                                             QFN Volunteer Tree Planting Event

With your help we will be planting about 200 native trees and shrubs to naturalize Clifford
‘Sonny’ Belch Park. We plant trees to provide food and habitat for wildlife, to mitigate climate
change and to beautify our fair city. All plants will be in small and medium sized pots.

When: October 25, 9am-Noon and October 26, 9am - Noon (or until all planting is done)

Where: Clifford Sonny Belch Park. (between Centre St & West St) Meet in middle of the Park

What to Bring
*Gloves and a shovel if possible
*Closed toe footwear - mandatory
*Refillable water bottle and a snack - we will have water to refill your bottle and light snacks
*This event will be rain or shine - please check back to this page for updates if weather is
extreme

Please Note:
* Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult
* All participants will be asked to fill out a safety and liability waiver at the event, so please
arrive a few minutes early
* This activity will involve light and medium physical activity with digging and light lifting.
* Quinte Field Naturalists can provide a confirmation letter of Community Service hours, if
requested
